During the 2006 nesting season a group of people gathered together using the discussion feature of the Sidney/Victoria Nest section on the main Hancock House web site. They now gather here.

Welcome all nesters, old and new.

Thank you so much for setting this thread up for us Grizzly. It will be a pleasure to discuss the nest again with old friends.

Now I must find a spiffy new avatar for our spiffy new nest.

Thank you to the David Hancock Forum, MJH, the staff and everyone involved in allowing this opportunity to rebuild our old nest A big thank you :D Grizzly! You are the best!

Other old nesters are on their way. :D It will be a great pleasure to discuss the nest and begin our around the clock vigil when the first chick is hatched!

Grizzly:

Thank you so much for making this thread possible. :D

What an absolute thrill to be given this opportunity to rebuild our old nest, and welcome back old friends. We look forward to seeing new friends join us here, too - to discuss all the happenings at the nest. :)

To all those who helped make this possible, I express my sincere thanks. And Grizzly - you made it happen! Take a bow! :)

Can`t wait for the chicks to hatch - so we can re-live our wonderful experience of last year - one we will never forget. It`s what we have all been anxiously anticipating.

This is all so exciting! I am ecstatic. :D :D :D

Hi everyoine :D I was rather fearful my computer failed and no one received their e mail! So happy to see some of us coming in! With it being the weekend, others will make their way soon!

We are all so thrilled

Looks like a big storm and rain coming in on the nest! Have had no time to watch today. A new front on the way? Need to check the weather. Janie, I did the same thing you did, nearly. LOL Too excited to think, had to edit for the first time ever. Back later!

Well, here we are!! Thanks to you, Judith, for your efforts. If it hadn't been for you, we wouldn't be here.

It's absolutely pouring here. I feel for the adults in this weather, but they must be very used to our weather here on the West Coast. I haven't been to the nest yet because I've been doing INCOME TAX - yikes!! Do you think they could make those forms simpler?? Tried it on-line one year and by phone the next, but still like to do it the old pen and paper way.

I wonder how the East Coast eagles are faring. Things looked pretty grim early last night. I'm almost afraid to look.

Wow! It's raining pretty good in Sydney. A friend of mine wants to join us, so I'm going to try to tell her how to get in. Hope I remember.

Wow! What a great day!

Thanks for the welcome BBE! Good to see you here Janie! You and I must do something with our avatars

J1, J2 and Karen...great to see you too! Hope to see more of the nesters soon.

It's very rainy in Sidney. I'm watching the cam and wondering if it had been decided if there were 2 eggs for sure. I really hope there isn't a third.

Back Later

I think there are two eggs. I'm going over to the Daily Beat to read if anyone thinks there's another one. I hope not, too.

Did anyone get to Maine today?? It's dark there now and I hear an awful howling of wind. I'd like to know what's up with the camera. I'm sure it's off target. Does anyone know?

I'm having posting problems. I just posted the same thing twice! Hopefully, not three times. This is coming from the person who knows everything. NOT!! Ignore repeated postings please - it's just me.

I checked the other nests early...it was bad! The cam was down on the one that I'm most concerned about.

Yes, I think Ma and Pa (do they have real names yet?) are used to the weather on the 'Wet Coast'. Aren't you Karen?

Here we go! Thanks Griz! What a guy...bear.

There was an intruder in the Saanich nest who was promptly vanquished, I think by Dad. Actually there were two intruders. One was a near adult and the other a juvi.

Cora Anne got some beautiful screen shots. Intruder Shots I hope someone captured a video. I missed the action while cleaning...*sulk*

Does anyone have a link for the Norfalk nest. I hear there are triplet eaglets in residence.

Love ya all,
Nell

Yes, I definitely am! That was an awesome video by Sierra of Mom defending the nest! I wonder where Dad was when all this was going on.

I seem to be able to get only one view of the Maine nest while others are getting two. I wonder what that's about?

Which nest is that you're so worried about? Someone on the Daily Beat yesterday said that it looked as if the two little ones were sitting in the mud and that both parents were in the nest trying to protect them from the weather. It breaks my heart.

I see where sj posted our new "home" on FF.

I thought that was Mom in the nest, but maybe not. Sierra has a video. Did you see it? Someone posted it earlier here.

Hi Nesters:

So nice to see our old nesters coming back home to the nest. :D

Thanks BBE for the welcome. Nice to see you back Karen and Janie. Of course, it goes without saying that it`s so good to have TimH and Jude here too. :D

I noticed too it was raining at the nest today. Not too pleasant for Mom and Dad. But then, it sure beats being buried in snow, like a couple of the other nests! I also saw Mom chasing off an intruder earlier. It worked, though. She sure was upset.

I hope we know for sure soon how many eggs there really are. Maybe we won`t know until they hatch. Any predictions on when that might be?

Wow! This is great! C`mon Grizzly. Let`s have some of your words of wisdom that we all love.

Wow! Hard to keep up with those coming back to our nest.

Great to see you Nell and Gogee - and anyone else who shows up while I`m posting this.

Such fun! Can`t wait for the babies to arrive - remember all those 'Food Drop`s" from last year. Hard to type and watch the nest at the same time. But, what one of us missed, everyone else was right there to bring us up to speed.

We`re family. :D Woo Hoo for sure. :)
